Migrating from on premise to cloud hosting

Migrating from on premise to cloud hosting

RTVision migrates all data from the on-premise virtual appliance to cloud hosting, however the below areas need to be reviewed and a plan needs to be determined prior to migrating.

  1. Integrations

    1. Online Payments: The new URL will need to be provided to the online payment provider except for Certified Payments, FIS, AllPaid, Official Payments, Municipay, VPS. It may take up to 2-4 weeks for the payment provider to setup the new URL for payments. This must be completed before migration.

      1. Forte needs to be notified or the change made in Dex

    2. Tax Systems: Opening up the tax system to the public is not recommended, below are recommended options:

      1. Export subset of tax data to a location on the County/City network; OneGov will grab the data from that location on a scheduled basis

      2. Utilize RTVision’s cloud connector to securely access the tax system data

      3. Allow access to the tax system from specified IP addresses (there are 10 that would be required)*

      4. Add the fields from the tax system to a GIS layer (if public data), for import

    3. Payroll:

      1. Utilize RTVision’s cloud connector to securely send data to the payroll system from timecards

      2. Allow access to the payroll system from specified IP addresses (there are 10 that would be required)*

      3. Export a file from the timecard system that is imported into the payroll system

    4. Cost Accounting:

      1. Utilize RTVision’s cloud connector to securely send data to the cost account system from timecards

      2. Allow access to the cost account system from specified IP addresses (there are 10 that would be required)*

      3. Export a file from the timecard system that is imported into the cost account system (There is a cost associated with importing files for New Roads customers)

    5. Financial (IFS ePort)

      1. Utilize RTVision’s cloud connector to securely connect to IFS (if server is internal)

      2. Allow access to the ePort from specified IP addresses (there are 10 that would be required)*

      3. If your IFS server is hosted and/or ePort is external, connection options can be disregarded

*These IP addresses are subject to change

  1. URL change

    1. The URL of the site will be changing, please be sure to update websites or other locations that may use the URL

    2. Redirects can be added by the County/City from their domain to the new URL

  1. Email Setup

    1. If your agency uses your own domain for sending emails and you wish to keep that functionality, please contact RTVision Support (support@rtvision.com) for setup.
