How to reset a password

Instructions on how to reset your own password and the password of another user

Resetting Your Own Password

  1. Click "Login" in the top right
  2. Click "Forgot your password?"
  3. Enter the email account that you used to sign up for the account
  4. Check for an email from RTVision for a link to re set your password
    1. If you don't see an email, be sure to check your Junk or Spam folder
  5.  Enter a new password
  6. Log in using the new password

 Resetting a User's Password

By following these instructions, the user will receive an email with a new temporary password. Upon first logging in with the new password, the user will be prompted  to change their password.

  1. Click "Administration" under the "User" tab
  2. Click "Public Users" if the user is a public user or "Employees" if the user is an employee
  3. Find the user in the list and click "Modify" next to their account
  4. Click on the step labeled "Actions"
  5. Enter a new password in the "Temporary Password" field
  6. Ensure that the drop down under "Notify 'user's email'" is set to "Yes"
    1. This setting will decide whether or not to send an email to the user including a message stating that the password was changed and what the temporary email is
  7. Click "Set temporary password"
