Weekly Diary Document

Information below explains where fields on the MnDOT Weekly Diary are populated from Inspection data entries:

Contract & Project Details

Data at the top of the Weekly Diary is entered in the Contract & Project Details section. Both Contract details and Project Details are included. Only the first project (ie lowest ID) details will be pulled in for project specific information.

The report numbering can be edited when creating the Weekly but it is auto generated based upon the contract start date.

Type of Contact

The Type of contract is either based upon the number of working days or based upon the specified completion date. Both the number of working days and the specified completion date are set up in the Contract Details section.

The Intermediate Project number of working days or completion date is setup in the Intermediate Project section

Major Types of Works

Major Types of Work or Progress-Controlling Operations descriptions and daily scheduled hours are added when creating the weekly diary. Each of the three major types of work hours are then tracked using the Daily Details tab in Inspections

Working Days Charged and Daily Weather

Daily Weather is added in the Inspection Summary tab. The Details tab will track Working Days Charged and the Contractor Hours Worked, Contractor Hours Planned Delays (A), and Contractor Hours Unplanned Delays (U), as well as the same fields for up to two Intermediate Projects. Each of the number of contractor hours worked correlate to the Scheduled Hours noted in the Progress Controlling Operations above.

Major Items

Major items are selected when adding the weekly diary. The contract values for those items will then be pulled into the document.

Weekly Summary

The weekly summary is noted when adding the weekly diary and should summarize the weeks activities. The Working Day Summary will take the ‘Prior Total of Working Days’ that remain in the contract and subtract the ‘Total Days Charged’ during the given week. This will provide the ‘Total Working Days’ on the contract and this will be carried forward to the next weekly diary under the ‘Previous Total Working Days’.

Contractors, Equipment and Comments.

Contractors and equipment added in the Inspection Contractors and Equipment tabs will be listed. Daily Comments added in the Summary tab will be listed in the lower section of the weekly diary.
