Sometimes terminology differs from state to state, and even within an individual agency.

Below is a guide for how OneOffice differentiates the two.

 

Daily Comments

  1. Transfer to the Weekly Diary

  2. Transfer to the Daily Diary Report

  3. Used as more of a Summary of the day

    1. example: Began grinding on CSAH XX north of Town A. Worked on a 3 mile stretch, laid down 9975lbs. of rubber.

  4. One field/entry

  5. Modifiable

Notes

  1. Do not transfer to the Weekly Diary

  2. Transfer to the Daily Diary Report

  3. Used to track specific data related to items, quantities, and job site management.

    1. example: I tested the temperature of the bituminous at 9am, it was 330 degrees, the bituminous mat. looks good.

  4. Can add multiple notes per day, by multiple users

  5. Non-modifiable, except for project, location, and tags.
