Individual Hourly Rate

Each employee can have multiple hourly rates based on different factors for time entry, hourly rates can also be set up per group. Hourly Rates can be added as Payroll Rates and Billable Rates, these can be different values. (i.e. Billable Rate might include the cost for the employee's time including fringe benefits.)

Payroll Rates: Used in Timecard Reports (Project Time Report, Pay Period Summary Report)

  1. From ‘Administration’ select the ‘Hourly Rates’ tab.

  2. Click ‘Add Hourly Rates Payroll’.

  3. Select the ‘Employee’ for the hourly rate.

  4. Enter the ‘Effective Date’.

    1. The application will use the effective date for reporting and will automatically use the new and old rates depending on the date range of the report being run.

    2. If updating an employee's rate, create a new rate or historical data will be lost.

    3. If left blank, the application will use the employee's hire date that is saved in their User Account.

  5. If applicable select a ‘Higher Labor Class’.

  6. Enter the value for the ‘Hourly Rate’.

  7. Click 'Add this Hourly Rates (Payroll).

If a billable rate multiplier is being used then only the ‘Payroll’ rate would need to be entered. The ‘Billable’ rate will be automatically determined by the multiplier. If a multiplier is not being used the billable hourly rate would need to be entered by clicking the ‘Hourly Rates (Billable)’ link.

Billable Rates: Used in Road and Bridge Reports (Equipment & Labor, Repair Orders)

  1. From ‘Administration’ select the ‘Hourly Rates’ tab.

  2. Click the link to change the view to the ‘Hourly Rates (Billable)’ section.

  3. Click ‘Add Hourly Rates (Billable)’.

  4. Enter the ‘Effective Date’.

    1. The application will use the effective date for reporting and will automatically use the new and old rates depending on the date range of the report being run.

    2. If updating an employee's rate, create a new rate or historical data will be lost.

    3. If left blank, the application will use the employee's hire date that is saved in their User Account.

  5. Select the ‘Activity’.

    1. If the rate should apply to a specific Activity when selected on the timesheet.

    2. This can be set per employee. If the employee selection is left blank it would apply to all employees who select the activity.

  6. Select the ‘Employee’

    1. This can be blank if it is for all employees using certain activities.

  7. If applicable select a ‘Higher Labor Class’.

  8. Choose the type of hours this is for

    1. Options are Regular, Overtime, Comp Earned, or Flex Earned

  9. Enter the value for the ‘Hourly Rate’.

  10. Click 'Add this Hourly Rates (Billable).
