Exporting Shift Differential hours as Labor Code

Shift differential time can be calculated by the day of the week or the time of the day that the employee is working (note: time of the day can only be used if time in/out is being tracked by the employee).

If shift differential is received, the agency can export the time into New Roads cost accounting with a different labor code using the following setup:

1. While in ‘Administration’ select the ‘System Settings’ tab.

2. Find the ‘EXPORT_AUTO_SHIFT_DIFF_TO_NEWROADS' field and select ‘Modify’. Change the ‘Current Value’ to 'Yes’ to export the automated shift differential time using a defined labor code.

3. Next, go to the ‘Shift Differential’ tab and click on the link to determine if the automated shift differential should be set up by the day of the week (including holiday) or time of the day.

4. Click on ‘Add Shift Differentail’ and select the date or timeframe, also select the labor code that will export if the automated shift differential is received.

5. Select which Group/Team the automated shift differential and/or labor code combination should be available for, then click save.

6. You can further define which hour types should qualify for a shift differential by going to the Labor Codes tab in Administration, and modifying the labor codes to enable/disable the option for the hour type to qualify or not qualify for a shift differential.
