If you are unable to locate the project bid key (an agency loses the key received when posting a bid), then you will need to follow the below steps after the project bidding is closed.

Step-by-step guide

1. After bidding is closed, click on REKEY from the BidVault project opening page.  This is located under the option to 'Open Bids'

2. You will now be emailed a new project bid key to open the project

3. Check the Bid Audit report to view bidders on the project, and notify bidders that they will need to re-key the bid by logging into BidVault and uploading their project bid key under 'My Bids'

4. Check the Bid Audit report to verify once bid keys have been uploaded and they have re-keyed their bid

5. Once all bidder’s have re-keyed their bid, the project can be opened as usual, with the new bid key sent in step #2.

Instructions for bidders to rekeycontract, the only way to open bids (or decrypt bid data) is to have each bidder provide their encryption key using the following instructions:


  1.  Log into bidVAULT
  2. Go to User tab>>My Bids
  3. Click con on 'Rekey' – upload bid key used
