In order to setup tracking and accruals that pertain to this new law, please review the following setup options in TimePlus:

  1. Add new Time Off Type

  2. Tie the new time off type to an existing or new to accounting code

  3. Add a new labor code

    1. If you want to add a new time off labor code that employees would accrue towards, please use these instructions to do so.

    2. Be sure to make it available to only those employees who would accrue towards this new labor code

 4. Create activity overhead code, linking the accounting code from step 2 to the labor code in step 3.

  1. Track when employees work more than 80 hours

    1. Under the ‘Select Function’ dropdown, go the Pay Period Summary Report

    2. Select a start date of beginning of year and ‘Filter by Date Range’.

    3. Show by date to see exact date.

  2. Add time off accruals using ‘% of hours worked’ and set a cap of 48 hours (if applicable)

    1. Each employee will need to be setup, with different effective dates, on when they have logged 80 hours and can start to accrue to the new time off type.

    2. Be sure to enter the accrual as a percent of hours worked or 3.33%

    3. If applying the 48 hours cap, specify the limit type as 'cap and enter the hours limit

 7. Specify pay codes that will accrue towards ‘Hours Worked’ formula/calculation.

a. Check the other labord codes, like Regular hours, that will count towards this accrual and make sure they are set to 'Include in Hours Worked (Time Off Earnings).

b. Make these adjustments for each pay code, in the Labor Codes tab.
